AI Policy
Effective date: April 8, 2026 · Plain language, not legalese
1. Overview
Merba uses artificial intelligence to generate video advertisements and provide market analysis for businesses on the platform. The AI operates within a structured framework designed by the platform’s developer. It is not a general-purpose AI assistant.
2. What the AI Does
- Market Intelligence: Analyzes publicly available information about a business’s competitive landscape, positioning, and market conditions.
- Ad Creation: Composes video advertisements using scene templates, music, and visual effects based on the strategic analysis.
- Content Review: Post-session analysis extracts patterns to improve future ad quality across the platform (aggregated, not per-business).
3. What Data the AI Sees
- Business name, website content (scraped at time of session), service offerings, pricing
- Publicly available information about the business’s competitive landscape
- The business owner’s messages during the ad creation session
- Previous ad session data for the same business (if any)
4. What the AI Does NOT See
- Client personal information (names, emails, phone numbers, health records)
- Appointment details or scheduling data
- Payment information or financial records
- Chart notes, clinical records, or treatment history
- Other businesses’ data on the platform
5. Data Retention
- Session transcripts are retained for quality improvement and support.
- Generated videos are stored in cloud storage until deleted by the business owner.
- Market intelligence is session-scoped and not permanently stored.
- No AI training: Merba’s AI provider (Anthropic) does not use API-submitted data for model training. See Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.
6. Human Oversight
- All AI output is reviewed by the business owner before delivery.
- The platform maintains a 3-stage review process: brief approval, storyboard review, final video approval.
- Business owners can reject, revise, or delete any AI-generated content.
7. Limitations
- AI-generated market analysis is based on publicly available information and may contain inaccuracies.
- AI-generated advertisements are creative works and should be reviewed for accuracy before publication.
- The AI does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice.
